Tagging Students
How to put names to faces, and why each tag matters.
How to tag a student
- Open a photo from Moments, Stories or the review queue.
- Find the student’s name in the list. Use Find a student if your roster is long.
- Select their name. It moves to the top, marked as tagged.
- Save the photo, or choose Add to yearbook in the review queue.
How to tag several students
Select each name you recognize, one after another. Everyone you select is tagged when you save. Leave anyone you’re unsure about. You can come back later.
How to fix a wrong tag
- Open the photo again.
- Select the incorrect name to remove it.
- Select the right student, if you know them.
- Save. Coverage updates on its own.
How tagging affects coverage
Each tag adds one photo to that student’s coverage. Removing a tag takes it away. Nothing else needs updating — coverage always reflects your latest tags.
Good habits
- Tag who you know
- Accuracy matters more than speed.
- Ask when unsure
- A teacher or student editor can usually name someone quickly.
- Notice the counts
- Highlighted numbers show students below your photo goal.
- Add What, Where, When
- Details make photos easier to find later.
- Tag soon
- Faces are easiest to recognize while the moment is fresh.
If something isn’t working
- I can’t find a student’s name.
- They may not be on your roster yet. Add them in Students, then return to the photo.
- Two students share a name.
- Check the grade shown beside each name before selecting.
- My tags didn’t save.
- Tags are kept when you choose Save or Preserve. Closing the window without saving leaves the photo as it was.
